Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made ceramic restorations that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve the appearance of your smile. Veneers are designed to enhance the color, shape, and overall appearance of teeth while maintaining a natural look.

At Torresdale Dental Associates, we use high-quality ceramic materials and careful treatment planning to create veneers that complement your smile and provide beautiful, long-lasting results.

Benefits of dental veneers

Dental veneers can help:

  • Improve chipped or worn front teeth
  • Correct discoloration that goes beyond what can be improved by whitening
  • Enhance the shape and appearance of teeth
  • Create a more balanced, confident smile
  • Provide durable, natural-looking cosmetic results

For many patients, veneers offer an excellent way to achieve a dramatic smile improvement while preserving much of the natural tooth.

What to expect during veneers treatment

Most veneer treatment is completed over two appointments, although additional planning visits may be recommended when several veneers are being placed.

First Visit

We’ll carefully evaluate your smile and discuss your goals before preparing the front surface of the teeth. In some cases, only a very small amount of the outer tooth surface is removed. Temporary veneers are then placed while your custom restorations are being created.

Second Visit

Approximately three weeks later, your custom ceramic veneers are bonded to your teeth, completing your new smile. While you’re wearing temporary veneers, we recommend avoiding biting directly into foods with your front teeth until your permanent veneers have been placed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a crown and a veneer?

Crowns and veneers are very similar and are often made using similar materials. The main difference is that a veneer covers only the front surface of the tooth, while a crown covers the entire tooth.

That depends. A careful and thorough evaluation is needed to determine whether a crown or a veneer is the best option for your individual situation. We’ll recommend the treatment that provides the healthiest, longest-lasting result.

No. While veneers can be made from composite (the same material used for bonding), we typically recommend ceramic veneers because they are stronger, more durable, and designed to provide longer-lasting results.
